How do I get an invite to the HIMS Seminar?

All first time attendees must be vetted and receive an invitation in order to attend. AME’s should contact the Regional Flight Surgeon, Psychiatrists should contact Dr. Chesanow (charles.chesanow@FAA.gov), Psychologist should contact Dr. Georgemiller (randy.j.goergemiller@FAA.gov) and all others should email HIMS@aviationmedicine.com.

Can I bring or invite someone to the Seminar?

No. Each person must be invited by the HIMS working group. You can email HIMS@aviationmedicine.com to request an invite.

Can I give my registration to someone else?

No. Everyone must be individually approved to attend. If you need to cancel your registration or if you know of someone that is interested in attending, please email HIMS@aviationmedicine.com.

How do I cancel my registration?

You can cancel your registration at any time by emailing HIMS@aviationmedicine.com

  • You must indicate in your email if you want a refund as no refunds are processed without a request.
  • Refund requests can be made up to 10 days prior to the seminar start date
  • Refund request made in time will receive a full refund, minus the PayPal transaction fee.
  • Refund requests made within 10 days of the seminar start date cannot be processed for a refund as all funds have been committed to cover the seminar costs.

How do I cancel my hotel room?

You can send an email to HIMS@aviationmedicine.com to cancel your hotel reservation. This will allow the HIMS team to cancel your room with the hotel in a way that it remains part of the HIMS room block.

I have previously attended, why do I need to go on the Waitlist?

Due to the strong interest in the HIMS seminars, we had to setup a priority registration process to insure that the airmen working in and with the program along with the medical professionals approved by the FAA, would have a spot at the seminars.

When are Certificates of Attendance and Participation provided?

These are provided within 30 days of the seminar end date.

When will I receive my CME Certificate?

These are provided by the FAA. After your CME test is graded, and if the test is passed, the FAA will email you your CME certificate.

What is the dress code for the seminar?

The dress code is business casual

When is the next Seminar?

Future seminars are determined after the current seminars. As soon as dates and location are known, they are posted to the website.

HIMS Program

HIMS is specific to commercial pilots and coordinates the identification, treatment and return to the cockpit of impaired aviators.
